red dot jury enthralled by KUKA Systems cinema
Augsburg, July 2012 – The KUKA Systems „Energy Kino“ show has now also won the red dot design award 2012. The international panel of experts was impressed by the trade fair application, which has already caused quite a stir at a variety of national and international shows.
KUKA Systems GmbH designed and implemented the trade fair application together with LIQUID | Design Agency from Augsburg. Last year, the show had already been honored with the Annual Multimedia Award. Now the KUKA Systems „Energy Kino“ show has also won the world“s most significant and prestigious design prize – the red dot award 2012. The installation was selected for presentation to the jury out of a total of 6,823 submissions and was chosen as a winner in the „Event Design“ category.
KUKA Systems entered its „Energy Kino“ for the red dot award after its successful showing at trade fairs in Hamburg and Shanghai and more recently at Intersolar in Munich. It consists of a glazed cell with an industrial robot at the center. Three screens, displaying a virtual room, are mounted on the robot arm. Trade fair visitors are shown brief sequences providing information about KUKA Systems as a company and about the range of products and services for the Energy sector as well as for automated photovoltaic module production. At the same time, coupled with the robot motion, visitors pass through the virtual room, in which the robot moves to a variety of positions. At these points, further information is provided about products, technologies and solutions. The perfectly coordinated sound and light effects cast an additional spell over the audience.
