More than 60 international market leaders from 16 countries participate
(Heidelberg, Germany) The successful launch of the 1st agrofood West Africa is getting closer. More than 60 international market- and technology leaders already booked their exhibition space until end of September. This new market place benefits of substantial institutional support. The 1st International Trade Show on Agriculture, Food, Beverage & Packaging Technology and Food, Beverages & Hospitality is scheduled to be held from 3 to 5 December 2013 at the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra, Ghana.
Even before the official opening of agrofood West Africa on December 03, 2013 the organisers talk about a successful launch, as the majority of the exhibition space is already sold out. Until end of September more than 60 exhibitors from 16 countries confirmed their participation.
The event enjoys strong institutional support of European partners. Austria is present with an Austrian pavilion supported by Advantage Austria. France officially participates through adepta-The French Association for the Development of International Trade in Agricultural and Food Processing Techniques. adepta organizes an official French pavilion featuring around 15 French exhibitors. In addition, ubifrance compiles a mission of French agrofood business people to the event. This collective operation is registered in the Program France and enjoys the financial support of the French Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry. Germany actively contributes to the success of the event through AHK Ghana-Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana.
According to VDMA-The German Engineering Association, West African imports of food processing and packaging machinery and equipment, in 2011, have increased to 567.4 million Euros, compared to 341.3 million Euros in 2010, a plus of 66.2 per cent. With 507.0 million Euro imports of such kind remained relatively stable on a high level in 2012. West Africa imported agricultural machinery and equipment, in 2011, at a volume of 167.9 million Euros, after 135.4 million Euros in 2010. This marks an increase of 24.0 per cent. For 2012, these imports remain firm with 154.4 million Euros.
To create valuable synergies for exhibitors and visitors alike, agrofood West Africa is held in conjunction with plastprintpack West Africa, the 1st International Trade Show on Plastics, Composites, Chemistry and Printing & Packaging Solutions and Material.
