EuroMold 2014 presents the latest cutting-edge medical technology

Frankfurt/Main, 5th November 2014: Exhibitors from 24 industries will present their latest products and comprehensive problem-solving expertise at EuroMold from the 25th to the 28th of November 2014. In addition to the classical fields of work, the spotlight has for several years now become increasingly focused on the medical technology sector. Behind automotive and mechanical engineering, medical technology ranks before aerospace and the electrical and electronics industry.

Dental Direkt, the largest German manufacturer of dental zirconium oxide blanks and one of the leading specialists for all-ceramic applications, will, for example, present the innovative DD Argus M1 strip-light scanner – a dental CAD-integrated system that sets new standards – at EuroMold. Besides the appealing and user-friendly product design, the DD Argus M1 has two high precision cameras. By generating a model data set using Twin Camera Technology, extremely high accuracy with significant reduction in scan times is achieved. Both cameras as well as the strip-light generator pan over the model. In the process the model plate rotates, without having to make any additional tilting movement. This makes it unnecessary to lock or fasten the models and the model cannot slip of fall off.

The dental products manufacturer, Schütz Dental, will also introduce its new smart machines, Tizian Cut 5 smart und Tizian Cut 5 smart plus, at the show. In the simultaneous five-axis machines, recent developments in hardware and software provide even more precision, variety, speed and comfort care. Unique in such a compact machine is its dry-machining capability of non-precious metal blanks. Due to the sinter less process, the high fit and material quality, the models allow the manufacture of bridges of up to 14 units and the execution as implant work with passive fit. The manufacture of chrome castings is also precise and time saving. The compact all-rounder „made in Germany“ is also distinguished by its speed. For example, a three-unit metal bridge is milled in around fifty minutes only.

Medical technology is developing, also due to the steady above-average achievements of the German tool and die making sector, into a very dynamic and fast-growing industry. This places German medical technology companies second behind the US but clearly ahead of Japan in terms of sales volumes. Moreover, due to high investment in research and development, about 20 per cent of industry sales can be achieved with products that are only three years old or younger.

„We are proud that the most important suppliers of medical technology at EuroMold 2014 have been represented for years and that their number has even increased,“ says trade fair manager Eberhard Döring. „These companies constantly prove that with German engineering expertise it is possible to survive and prosper even in the increasingly harsh international competitive environment, which is characterised by strict cost management and this in the long term. This serves a role model – also for other industries.“
