The product-independent calculation software PAScal is used to verify functional safety (EN/IEC 62061, EN ISO 13849-1).
The PAScal Safety Calculator has been developed by Pilz and is product-independent. It calculates and verifies the key safety parameters for safety functions on plant and machinery, such as PL (Performance Level) and SIL (Safety Integrity Level), based on graphic representations of your own circuit structures. The calculation is based on the harmonised safety standards EN ISO 13849-1 and EN/IEC 62061. The result is compared with the safety parameters required for the safety functions and is displayed in graphic form. This way it is easy to establish whether objectives are achieved and to determine the influence that individual components have on the respective safety function. The tool will show you if any action is needed.

With the Safety Calculator PAScal it’s easy to perform and display even complex calculations – the PAScal film shows you how. In the film the protagonist is in charge of CE marking and so needs to determine the safety levels of safety functions. The PAScal calculation software saves him time and soothes his nerves – error-prone calculations are consigned to the past.
