Economic tube production for shipbuilding with special transfluid pipe bending maschines

In the pipework in shipbuilding solutions for very specific requirements are needed. Because here are mostly produced complex individual parts and pipes must meet the required classifications. Also various materials such as steel, stainless steel, duplex or CuNiFe are used. They differ mainly by their individually different processing characteristics. The majority of the processed pipe sizes is at most 6 „- 168, 3 mm or 8“ – 219 mm.

To allow for these specific challenges, a fast and efficient production, the experts of the german transfluid Maschinenbau GmbH emphasis in their tube processing systems, on short setup times and a high-performance software. The solid base of the plant forms a CNC-controlled bending machine from the product line t bend. As the tube bending software can be used in the network, there is for the designers at a very early stage ability to check feasibility of geometries and whether the pipe is bendable without collision. This makes planning for the processing more predictabe and gives therefore more economical process reliability. In addition, the system calculates the sawing lenght and store the data in a cutting list. It also assures the optimal timing and implementation of processes.

„Additional production costs can be saved if flanges are welded to the pipe even before bending. We also have developed a solution that makes this process easier, „explains Gerd Nöker, managing director transfluid. The software t control is able to calculate how the hole position of the flanges have to be welded to each other. Subsequently, the bending machine can safely process the flanged pipes.

An efficient production also ensure quick tool changes. Despite the impressive size of this bending machines it is below 15 minutes. Another advantage: transfluid systems can be designed that eventually existing and still-usable bending tools can be used. „For us it is most important to provide technology, which supplies an economic and high-quality tube processing for permanent perfect results,“ says Gerd Nöker concluded.
