A wealth of welding expertise

KUKA Systems exhibits its product portfolio at the Metalloobrabotka trade fair in Moscow
A wealth of welding expertise

Moscow, May 2011 – KUKA Systems will be represented at this year“s Metalloobrabotka, the international trade show for material processing technology, machines and tools in Moscow. The company will be presenting its solutions for a wide range of welding and joining technologies, all of which are characterized by excellent precision, quality, speed and process control:

For arc welding, KUKA Systems supplies service-proven quality now in its fifth generation: the KS Arctec function package has been specially developed for robotic arc welding and offers optimal process reliability and maximum system availability and flexibility.

KUKA Systems also offers flexible systems for laser welding: innovative production facilities that are characterized by fast process speeds and high precision. The technology of laser hybrid welding ideally combines the advantages of laser and arc welding. KS HybridTec is the name of the product from KUKA Systems, which is distinguished by its compact design, ensuring optimal tool accessibility even with three-dimensional assemblies. The laser hybrid welding process is particularly suitable for thick-walled metal components.

Four decades ago, KUKA established friction welding as an industrial joining process. Numerous KUKA innovations, such as short-cycle welding and defined-angle friction welding, have shaped this field ever since. KUKA Systems offers friction welding machines for the entire spectrum of applications: small, medium and large series are available.

Magnetarc welding is a pressure welding process developed by KUKA Systems, with an arc that is moved magnetically under shielding gas.
The state-of-the-art friction welding and Magnetarc welding processes make it possible to limit use of expensive material to those points that are relevant for the component.

With submerged-arc welding, a high welding speed is achieved by means of high deposition efficiency, so that this technology is recommended for long seams and thicker plates.

Modular system for welding work
In Moscow, KUKA Systems will also be presenting its newly developed standardized cell concept for welding solutions, the KUKA flexibleCube. This modular system offers a broad spectrum of cost-effective, standardized components (such as enclosures, safety elements, positioning aids), both for laser and arc welding technology.

Furthermore, KUKA Systems will be providing information about its expertise in the areas of system integration and engineering services for customer-specific requirements.
