4th FRIMO Forum in Lotte

50 Years of Global Competence

Hans-Günter Bayer, CEO of the FRIMO Group, opened up the 4th FRIMO Forum in Lotte with a look back over five decades of FRIMO.

50 years of FRIMO stand for five decades of dynamism and passion for plastics technologies. Pioneering spirit, courage and strength of purpose have characterized the dynamic development of the FRIMO Group for a half a century now, allowing us to become one of the world“s leading technology providers for manufacturing solutions.
It was with this in mind that the 4th FRIMO Forum was held at the Group“s corporate headquarters in Lotte, Germany, on September 19 and 20, 2012, with about 450 participants from 140 companies and 20 countries. Along with interesting plenary and technology presentations and an enjoyable and informative entertainment program, the visitors found an extremely effective platform to learn about what“s moving the industry, to exchange ideas with participants and speakers, to make new contacts and to maintain existing ones.

Hans-Günter Bayer, CEO of the FRIMO Group, opened up the event with a look back over five decades of FRIMO.
Following presentations by Mubea Carbotech, BMW, Audi and Premium Aerotec, the first afternoon focused on „Lightweight Construction & New Technologies“ and „High Quality Surfaces & Efficient Processes.“ A series of eight presentations by speakers from external partners such as Benecke-Kaliko, BMW, JSP, RWTH Aachen, Schuler and Wiesmayer – together with specialists from FRIMO – provided first-hand information on their expertise and projects.

On the second morning, the audience listened enthusiastically to automotive expert Prof. Ferdinand Dudenhöffer“s presentation on „Global FUTURE Mobility – an Industry on the Move.“ Faurecia, Johnson Controls and Huntsman appeared here with global topics from the Tier 1 and raw material supplier perspective. Ernst Schwanhold, former State Minister of Economic Affairs, concluded the series of presentations with a look at sustainability in the global environment.
Another highlight of the second day was the practically oriented technology show, with numerous live demonstrations and an accompanying exhibition. FRIMO covered all areas of technology here, from PU processing to flexible trimming and punching, along with pressing and forming, thermoforming, laminating and edgefolding, right through to joining, with new developments and advancements. The exhibition showcased the products and services of AT Automation Technology, Akzo Nobel, BASF, Bayer, Benecke-Kaliko, Eschmann, Galvanoform, Harx Tooling, Huntsman, Isowood, JSP, Ridea, Schuler, Senoplast, Sika Tivoli and Wiesmayer, and others.

At the end of the two days, the participants, exhibitors and speakers – and last but not least, FRIMO – were clearly satisfied with the 4th FRIMO Forum. Hans-Günter Bayer, CEO of the FRIMO Group, summed it up this way: „We received a lot of positive feedback, participants expressed their appreciation for the excellent presentations and the quality of the technology show, and the event was described as an industry highlight and an outstanding communication platform. That was our objective, and we achieved it. We“re proud of that. As a global technology partner, we“ll apply the same level of commitment to new projects with our customers!“
